Event EndedAssisted Independence - Field Trips

There are many field trips this year. When RSVPing please be sure to select the specific event, you wish to attend:

Hilltop Garden and Nature Center (Bloomington) – Tuesday, June 27th, 2PM

Cost for trip: Free Admission

Meals for trip: No food required for the trip. A packed lunch can be brought for afterwards.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the Hilltop Garden at 2PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will volunteer at the center. It is estimated to be about two hours. We are estimating to be done at the center around 4PM. We can have a group lunch afterwards or people may go back home. If planning to go to lunch, please bring a packed one or money.

Cincinnati Reds Baseball Game – Wednesday, August 9th, 12:35PM

Cost for trip: $10 per ticket

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at 10:00AM. Locations will be coordinated the week before for meeting spots. It is a 1.5-hour drive to the stadium. We will attend the game and have lunch in the park. After the game we will drive back to the meeting spot. An average game is about three hours. We are estimating to be back to the meeting spot around 7PM.

Indiana State Fair – Wednesday, August 16th, 12PM

Cost for trip: $5 per ticket

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the Fairgrounds at 12PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will walk Midway and go through the exhibits. People may ride the rides if they wish to. If you are planning to ride, please bring additional money for your tickets. We will have lunch at the fairgrounds. Please bring money or a packed lunch. We are estimating to be leaving the fairgrounds around 4PM.

Lake Monroe Day – Monday, August 21st, 11AM

Cost for trip: $25 per person. This includes the cost for boat rental, campsites, and food.

Meals for trip: There will be food provided for lunch and dinner at the campground. If there are any dietary restrictions, please let me know for accommodation.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the Lake at 11AM. Group transportation can be provided. We will spend the day on the lake and then go to the campground for the night. (If you choose to go to the lake, you do not have to spend the night on the campground.) We will have lunch and dinner at the campground. Please notify staff if there are any dietary restrictions. Staff and individuals may leave the lake when needed throughout the day. There will be lifejackets provided by Assisted Independence. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen for the lake.

Flat Fork Creek Park Day – Tuesday, August 29th, 12PM

Cost for trip: $7 per vehicle entrance fee

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the park at 12PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will take hikes, go through the nature center, and play games. We will have lunch at the park. Please bring a packed lunch. We estimate to be done at the park around 3:30PM.

Sky Zone (4150 Kildeer Drive, Indianapolis) – Wednesday, September 6, 5-8PM

Cost for trip: $20 per ticket

Meals for trip: No food required for the trip.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at Sky Zone in Indianapolis at 5PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will play in the venue for a few hours. You may bring a packed lunch or purchase food from the venue if you do not eat beforehand. We estimate to be done at Sky Zone around 7PM.

Nashville, IN Day Trip – Thursday, September 21, 12PM

Cost for trip: The cost for this trip varies. Money will be needed for lunch but up to each individual if they would like to purchase anything at each of the shops.

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet in Nashville at 12PM. A specific location will be determined later. Group transportation can be provided. We will walk through the shops and explore the area. If you plan to purchase anything from the shops, please bring additional money. We will have lunch in Nashville. Please bring a packed lunch or additional money. We estimate to be done in Nashville around 3:30PM.

Southwestway Park Day Trip – Friday, September 29, 11AM

Cost for trip: Free Admission

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the park at 11AM. Group transportation can be provided. We will take hikes, go through the nature center, and play games. We will have lunch at the park. Please bring a packed lunch. We estimate to be done at the park around 3:30PM.

Hanna’s Haunted Acres – Tuesday, October 3, 7-10:30PM

Cost for trip: $28 per ticket

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at Hanna’s Haunted Acres at 7PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will go through the haunted houses, maze, and hayrides. Please bring additional money if you would like to purchase food at the event. We estimate to be done at the venue at 10:30PM. * Please be advised this event is intended for an older age group. There are many people in costumes and props intended to scare people at this event. This event will end late at night. *

Axe Throwing at Axecaliburs (Bloomington) – Wednesday, October 11, 6PM

Cost for trip: To Be Determined. This is based on the number of attendees and group rate.

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for dinner at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the Axe Throwing facility at 6PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will participate in the activity. Please bring additional money if you would like to purchase food at the event. We estimate to be done at the Axe Throwing facility at 8:30PM.

Fishing at Parkview Lake – Monday, October 16, 10AM

Cost for trip: Free Admission - *Individual must have fishing license to participate but may still attend if they do not plan to fish.

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch for the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the lake at 10AM. Group transportation can be provided. We will fish and explore the area. Please bring your own pole and bait if you have it. We will play games as well. Please bring a packed lunch. We estimate to leave the park at 1PM.

Fall Family Friendly Haunting- Friday, October 20, 5pm

Cost for trip: $5, cash only

Agenda for trip: We will meet at Shireman Homestead 7060 W 200 N Columbus, IN 47201 at 5pm. Afterwards, we will go to 7660 W 450 N Columbus, IN 47201 for games, bonfire, s'mores and more!

Fishing at White River – Wednesday, October 25, 10AM

Cost for trip: Free Admission - *Individual must have fishing license to participate but may still attend if they do not plan to fish.

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch for the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at the lake at 10AM. Group transportation can be provided. We will fish and explore the area. Please bring your own pole and bait if you have it. We will play games as well. Please bring a packed lunch. We estimate to leave the park at 1PM.

Beasley’s Orchard – Tuesday, November 7, 2PM

Cost for trip: $10 per ticket

Meals for trip: Please bring a packed lunch or additional money for lunch at the event.

Agenda for trip: We will meet at Beasley’s Orchard at 2PM. Group transportation can be provided. We will do the mazes, play games, and go through their convenience store. Please bring a packed lunch. If you want to purchase goods from their store, please bring additional money. We estimate to be leaving the Orchard around 5PM.

Transportation for each trip:

The times listed for all the events are the times to be at the listed venue. If riding as a group, the meeting time will be earlier than listed. There will be limited seats for group transportation to all events. Transportation needs will need to be made with staff and their supervisor. Transportation will be coordinated the week before the event with staff.

To RSVP:

If you plan to attend multiple trips, you will need to request a ticket to EACH event.

1. Go under "When and Where", to the "Date and Time" on the left side of the screen.

2. Select the "More Options" in blue. A drop box will appear with all of the dates of the program.

3. Select the date of the program you want to attend.

4. Select the number of tickets, and "Reserve a spot".

5. Fill out your name and email address. Then select "Register".

6. Complete this for EVERY date of the program you wish to attend.
