Outside Looking In (OLI) is an Indigenous-led organization created to help address the many challenges facing Indigenous youth across Canada.By offering opportunities to be actively engaged in holistic education, OLI provides youth with a safe space where they can learn, move, be heard, and feel connected. A significant feature that sets OLI Dance apart from other arts programs is that OLI staff spend time in remote communities regularly throughout the year to work with the youth, building skills and strong relationships over the long term. Youth in the OLI Dance programs earn high school credit as part of their journey toward high school graduation.The on-Reserve high school graduation rate hovers around 45%, OLI has a 96% high school graduation rate for youth in its dance programsOver our 18 year history, through regular communication, time, care, and give-and-take, OLI has earned the trust and respect of youth, parents, guardians, educators, and community leaders.The OLI Dance Program is a for-credit high school program, offered to students in grades 7-12. In addition, OLI delivers an additional 2-tier career development, formal mentorship program; the Future Leaders program, made possible by RBC. One tier is for grades 10-12 ( also for credit), and one for high school graduates to chart their career path. Future Leaders Next Level. The 2nd tier provides OLI alumni with a Certificate in Professional Studies, a first achievement in their career journey.
