Gretchen Starks accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a little girl and has loved the Lord as early as she could remember her name. Her spiritual foundation was birthed in Detroit at Lockett Memorial Church of God In Christ under the late Pastor Willie J Joshua. It was there that her spiritual walk began receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost at 8 years of age. From then until now she has walked with the Lord. Now is a compassionate leader, wife, intercessor, and business partner to international recording artist Elder Derrick Starks for 29 years. Together, they co-founded the Starks Music Group Record Label. A devoted mother of four and grandmother of one, Gretchen’s commitment to healing and deliverance led her to launch Oil of Joy Healing and Deliverance International Ministries in 2025. She is a gifted songwriter—authoring the impactful “Let the Healing Begin,” featured on Bishop Paul S. Morton’s 2004 Seasons Change project and set to be featured on Live in Germany 2025, as well as “Reigneth,” both produced by Elder Derrick Starks. Gretchen is also a multifaceted professional who runs the online Fifty Seas Travel Company while maintaining a full-time career as a flight attendant in the aviation industry. In addition, she has served as the Midwest Regional Coordinator for the COGIC Israel Jurisdiction Department and is actively involved in ministry in New Orleans at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church and in Detroit at Life Church COGIC.
