Founded in 2001 by Newnan and Coweta County sportswriter and sportscaster, Johnny Brown, the Coweta Sports Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, trainers, writers and others who have contributed to the rich sports history of Coweta County, Georgia. The Coweta Sports Hall of Fame also sponsors and awards the Johnny Brown Coweta Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship, awarded annually to senior student-athletes from local area high schools. The Coweta Sports Hall of Fame hosts an annual induction ceremony and scholarship awards banquet.
