In 2003, twenty-three college-trained, professional women who matriculated from Western Illinois University sought to perpetuate the traditions and ideals of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  These women who were all initiated through Omicron Kappa Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. shared a passion and desire to improve the quality of life for the residents of Richton Park, Illinois and within the greater Chicagoland area. This desire led to the formation of Tau Alpha Zeta chapter (TAZ) on March 30, 2003.
