The Actor's Place is a brand new acting studio in San Diego, located in Mission Valley. While we offer top-notch actor training and professional development opportunities, we are more than just a place to take classes. The Actor's Place is also a membership-based actors' resource center to learn, network, and pursue your career goals. In addition to discounts on classes, Members can have access to rehearsal space, our library, self-tape recording space, and voice over space, all for one low monthly fee.The Actor's Place was founded in 2024 by Dr. Katie B. Turner, a long-time theatre artist based in San Diego, CA. Katie is a actor, director, producer, and playwright with a passion for teaching and learning about acting. She is also a full time lecturer in Theatre at San Diego State University. Most recently, Katie has appeared on stage with History Theater Co, a small company that uses devising to create performance pieces in historical sites across San Diego. As an acting instructor, Katie specializes in Improvisation and the Meisner and Chekhov techniques. She is a graduate of theMeisner & Chekhov Integrated Actor Training Program, which is also the Company in Residence at The Actor's Place.
