Wiltshire Mammal Group has been supporting mammal conservation in Wiltshire & Swindon since 2005. We do this by:Running long term survey projectsEncouraging and supporting people to submit mammal recordsOrganising training workshops and eventsLoaning equipment to support surveysFostering an interest and enthusiasm for Wiltshire’s mammalsThe key aims of the Wiltshire Mammal Group are:To support mammal conservation in Wiltshire & SwindonTo participate in and promote the recording and study of Wiltshire’s mammalsTo raise awareness of mammal conservations through public engagementTo increase the number of mammal records and the amount of recording in the County – particularly in terms of repeatable, systematic surveysTo increase the number of recorders through training and supportTo provide training and educational activities on mammals and appropriate survey techniquesThe group relies on volunteers throughout the county to help organise events, carry out monitoring and survey work and send in their mammal records.
