The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 16,000 professional women of African descent in 292 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.The San Jose Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was organized in 1981 to foster the mission of the national organization and to provide service to the Santa Clara County Community. As one of the 60 chapters in the Western Area of The Links, the San Jose Chapter provides world class service through our circle of friendship that is a model of excellence and innovations. We are recognized throughout the community as a collective voice of talented and professional women committed to improving the quality of Families, Women, Youth and Children. The San Jose Chapter of The Links is proud to fund two scholarships for youth requiring financial assistance to fulfill their dream of a college education: Alice E. Foster Memorial Scholarship and Link to Success Scholarship.The Links Foundation, Incorporated, the philanthropic arm of The Links, Incorporated, was established in 1979 to enhance and expand the philanthropic endeavors of The Links, Incorporated. The Foundation is a non-profit corporation operated exclusively for charitable and educational activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended.
