After growing up around family farms in rural NC, Sophie became an established muralist across N. Florida beaches in the 90’s, filling homes and businesses with exotic gardens and wildlife. After the traumatic loss of her first son, her art became a healing message of inspiration - finding beauty even in grief.She holds a BFA from UGA and works from her studio in Orange Park, FL. After over 25 years in heavy acrylics and community murals, Sophie ventured into oil painting, with a love of chasing the light and misty mornings. Her works are predominantly nature and wildlife, and she loves to share the JOY of painting thru local classes in peaceful watercolors, and textured acrylics.She is a part of the Kiawah River Artists group, Art Guild of Orange Park, the First Coast Plein Air Society and an instructor at various locations. Usually found live painting at events, she reminds us of the simple beauties in nature and outdoor living.
