Meredith Shedden (she/her) is a graduate of Sheridan College with an Honours Bachelor of Musical Theatre Performance, class of 2022. Prior to her time at Sheridan, Meredith attended the University of Toronto for two years as an English major. During her time in theatre school, Meredith majored in direction and choreography, and at the University of Toronto, she made her directorial and choreographic debut in 2017 with The Drowsy Chaperone in collaboration with Victoria College Drama Society.Six months post graduation, Meredith joined Bowtie Productions as Associate Director and Choreographer for their rendition of "Fun Home," which was mounted in April 2023. Since then, she has continued working with Bowtie as their Artistic Director and Co-Producer, directing "Falsettos" and "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" for their 2024 season, and their up-coming production of "Tick, Tick... Boom!" in Fall of 2025. At each event, Jim and Meredith will decide upon a theme, around which the lineup of performers will shape their 15 minute sets, whether it be part of their pre-song patter or the subject matter of the song itself. Past themes have included; “Changes”; “All the Crap I Learned in High School”; and “Summertime Sadness.” Instagram and Facebook: @tavernofsongMeredith’s most recent endeavour has taken shape in the world of country line dancing. This interest was fostered within Toronto’s premiere queer line dancing event: SPURS Night, which takes place Sunday nights at the Owl’s Club. Since her first hoe-down back in the summer of 2023, Meredith has joined the collective of callers and organizers for the event, and teaches at their regular events, as well as external programming.
