Clarisa H, aka SINO, is a dancer, choreographer, instructor, as well as DJ and performer based in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. She has trained and taught in various styles (Chinese folk, lyrical jazz, hip hop, bellydance, salsa/ bachata/ kizomba and more), with an emphasis in Afro dances and dancehall. She has been teaching for eight years and counting, and uses her diverse background to incorporate a taste of different styles and cultures into her classes and events. She has hosted dance workshops with renowned guest instructors as well as under her own brands (Dance with SINO and Heels & Waistline). She founded SINO Afro Crew, a performance team based in LA and Hong Kong, in 2023 to spread her passion for Afro street dances to the US, Asia and beyond. Her mission is to share the passion of dance and empower everyone to channel the truest expressions of themselves through movement.DJing & Music EventsSINO started her DJ journey in late 2023, as it seemed the most intuitive next step in realizing her vision to bring her love of Afro dance and music to Asia and beyond. She was inspired by many sounds originating from the African diaspora that she heard at events in Europe, and decided she wanted to delve deeper into the world of music and song selecting. She mixes various genres including amapiano, Afrohouse, ndombolo, coupe decale, Brazilian funk, reggaeton with an affinity for harder-hitting Afro genres such as Barcadi-piano, Angolan Afrohouse and gqom. She has also drawn some inspiration from her original love for rave genres such as techno, tech house, and trance. She has played for Duchessland (Hong Kong), BLCKOUT (Hong Kong), Yanos Brunch (Shanghai), AfroPulz (Oil Club, Shenzhen) and Africa Parties SG (Singapore).
