BDPA is a non-profit-business-tech-community-focused organization that's been developing diverse tech talent since it was founded in 1975. Originally known as the Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA), the organization's pursuit of tech-talent excellence is an ongoing aim. As a strategic partner within business ecosystems accross America, BDPA enhances, accelerates, and diversifies tech-talent pipelines in cities nationwide. The Cleveland Chapter, founded in 1980, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.BDPA expands access to jobs, business opportunities and career success for underutilized Black tech professionals who without BDPA, might otherwise be ignored, rejected, or pushed to the back of the employment line. Moreover, BDPA helps diverse communities participate more equitably in tech employment, business ownership, hiring decisions, and owning a more equitable portion of prosperity.Rather than simply posting job openings on a database, advertising resumes on a website, and moving talent from one organization to another like headhunters and job boards typically do, BDPA’s tech-talent building process helps employers tap into a tech-talent-development pipeline that develops excellence in new hires and current employees. By pulling tech talent, education providers, and success facilitators together in collaboration, BDPA helps employers tackle the business challenges they face.As BDPA approaches its 50th anniversary celebration in 2025, people are discovering that Tech Talent Excellence and BDPA go hand-in-hand.
