The Solar Drift Project is a non-profit initiative founded in 2025 to harness floating solar for climate-smart agriculture across South Africa and beyond. Now in our pre-feasibility phase, we identify and deploy floating photovoltaic systems on suitable water bodies to preserve farmland, curb evaporation, and deliver clean, reliable power to farmers and their communities. Join us as we bridge science, innovation, and local impact—building resilient, food-secure landscapes one float at a time. Furthermore we aim to educate and raise awareness of climate smart technology that moves people to embrace sustainable solutions, adopt innovative practices like floating solar, and take collective action toward a resilient, low-carbon future.
