Hey there, I'm Ana, and I'm proud to be a Brazilian dancer! My journey began in the vibrant city of Santarém, nestled in the northern region of Brazil, specifically in the state of Pará. Santarém has Alter-do-Chão village, that is often hailed as the 'Caribbean of the Amazon' due to its breathtaking beauty and rich cultural tapestry.Growing up in this captivating environment, I was immersed in the rhythms and traditions of the Amazonian culture from an early age. Dancing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it was here, amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, that my passion for dance was ignited.Now, I'm thrilled to share my love for dance and my deep-rooted connection to Brazilian culture with you. Through my performances and teachings, I aim to bring a piece of the Amazonian spirit to wherever I go. My goal is disseminate my culture teaching three distinctive Brazilian dance styles: Carimbó, Boi-Bumbá, and Brega.Carimbó is a lively and rhythmic dance originating from the northern region of Brazil, characterized by its strong beats and vibrant movements. It's deeply rooted in northern traditions and often accompanied by traditional instruments like drums and maracas.Boi-Bumbá, on the other hand, is a energetic rhythm form that originated in the in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. It's a celebration of folklore and miscegenation, featuring lively music with group choreographies.Brega dance is a fun and expressive style originating from the northern and northeastern regions of Brazil. It's known for its romantic themes, melodramatic gestures, rip and foot movements, and a lot hair whipping.Through my dance lessons, I hope to not only teach you the steps and techniques of these dynamic dance styles but also provide insight into the rich cultural heritage and traditions that they represent.
