Our daughter, BriAnna passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2013 of unknown causes. When we lost BriAnna we made the decision to keep her legacy of giving alive by donating to the people and organizations she believed in. WWBD has been blessed with being able to help hundreds of individuals with items such as sound systems and holiday gifts but being able to help the grieving to regain hope when we placed the Angel of Hope statue in Sartell was our biggest accomplishment.Recently, there have been some life changing events that have led us to want to make a change to our mission. As you know, I have always been vocal about the loss of BriAnna and have always taken the opportunity to share my feelings with anyone that would listen and because of this; I have become a resource for our community. Recently, a psychiatrist from the metro area reached out to ask me where a grieving mom could find additional resources in our community. I explained that in my own search there were limited resources in the area and because of this we changed our mission to “What Would Bri Do helps individuals cope with loss, supports their healing, nurtures their physical and emotional well-being and brings hope for the future - No one should grieve alone!"Recently, Randy and I had the opportunity to visit Faith’s Lodge in Danbury, WI. Faith’s Lodge provides a peaceful escape for families to refresh their minds and spirits while spending time with others who understand what they are going through. During our stay, we had the opportunity to spend 4 days/3 nights with three other couples who also lost their children very tragically. The lodge offered discussions led by a licensed social worker, meditation, massage, healing crafts, complimentary meals, outdoor activities and so much more. I left this weekend with the sense of hope in my grief journey. It has now become my personal mission to bring a similar concept to Central Minnesota! Together we can build Bri's Lodge.
