FitnessWalk® is a sports discipline that takes its cue from the most natural motor gesture: walking. It differs from this in the intensity of physical effort required and a scientifically defined technique.It is not a run or jog or even a walk. Movements are driven and characterized by a sleek gait with a long, rapid, cadenced stride. The arms move in rhythm with the legs. The stride starts with the heel in order to absorb shocks to the ground and then continues with the sole, constantly adhering to the ground for stability. Then, with a slight backward push of the heel aided by speed, the foot bends over the toe to the big toe.
