We are The Healing Vibes Collaborative (name changed 2023 from Collective to avoid confusion with a local recently formed group that some of us are also involved with)Our mission is to bring people together, commune, to let go of their trauma and celebrate the cycle of life through sound healing events.The idea of Healing Vibes Collaborative was hatched by roger in early 2016. With the intention bringing creatives, sound therapists and musicians together in co creating community events - many of these for charity; including the Healing for Grenfell event, where we raised over £600. all of which went directly to three families affected by the Grenfell tragedy. Primarily the idea was to take the focus off of me!Numerous people have been a part of the collaborative in this time including Sound Therapist Bear Love, Classical guitarist David Buckingham, didge player and maker “Tall Paul” Cook and vocalist and ‘angelic voice’ Georgie Deyn and most recently; the twins Paul and Mark from the mystery school of sound: https://www.facebook.com/themysteryschoolofsound/By definition the Collaborative is a gathering of men and women; a revolving door where folk get together to collaborate. coming and going, ebbing and flowing with a central core.roger (gong) newton(@rogergongs) is the founder and the core of the Collaborative ; his first experienced the powerful, life changing effects of sound-healing in Mysore, Southern India in early 2010; introduced to a meditation process using Himalayan bowls by Akhil Anka of The Temple of Singing Bowls. After an intense two week immersion he experienced a profound lasting connection to sound vibration and returned to the UK eager to share the deep recalibrating effects. Back then, sound therapy was considered 'a bit out there' - unlike now where the concept is familiar to the majority and ubiquitous - there were very few local sound therapists and the concept to most was a strange one - to say the least. roger adopted a softly softly approach not wanting to freak/ weird people out, he introduced sound first to his yoga classes then as a standalone element. Since 2010 he's amassed a large collection of gongs and singing bowls and other instruments and is passionate about sharing their power.as a Senior Teacher with the Yoga Alliance he considers himself a lifetime student - various holistic studies outside of the traditional yoga framework contribute greatly to his work with sound.Vibes Speak Louder than Wordshttps://thegongfather.bandcamp.com/releaseshttp://www.rogergong.comAli (@intuitive_living_) Ali's lifelong love for the art of movement has been a driving force in her life, guiding her on a personal journey of self-discovery; initially through the wold of dance. Yoga was added to the mix whilst on a dance scholarship in New York where she trained as a teacher. Ali has over a decade of experience in teaching dance and yoga.Paul Cummings(@mysteryschoolofsound )Paul is a twin, and has been playing with his brother Mark for eight years. Together they form The Mystery school of sound.They have a healing program to complement their practice. This practice connects to the healing arts and teachings from Eastern and Western traditions. The primary influences are esoteric philosophy, mysticism, and shamanism. Paul, Mark and Roger by a strange coincidence share the same birthdate and have co created on a number of occasions; at festivals as well as an all night gong puja.Theo Foley(@theosounds) Theo is a kirtan leader and sound meditation facilitator. "I have always been drawn to singing & music and developed a deep connection with the uplifting and heart-opening effects of chanting while serving in an ashram in India in 2019.
