These classes are for all who are curious about yoga and how it can help us move with more ease through our day.By allowing our body and our breath to be the primary guide we can develop practices that are enjoyable, sometimes a little challenging, and always within the boundaries of our individual physicalities. Everything in the practice is optional! Each class will offer opportunities to find the softness and sweetness in a shape or to release hidden strengths - and to move mindfully between the different aspects. The pace is slow with an emphasis on exploring a shape (asana/posture) before finding the point of stillness your body chooses. We will also take moments between asana to notice how our bodies are responding to the practice.About meI (Becs) am in the second year of the Satyam Yoga Teaching Training programme. I began developing my yoga practice in about 2015. After more than two decades of ambition-driven high intensity workouts, yoga is teaching me the joy of letting the body and the breath be my guide to wellbeing.I am inspired by yoga traditions that encourage harmony of movement and breath. There will be invitations to play with different patterns of breathing - for you to choose to explore or not, when it feels right. There will also be short meditation practices, which in time and with class agreement, we could extend.
