Eletta Cameron, a licensed clinical social worker, is a native of Uniontown, PA and graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work Mental Health Direct Practice respectively. She is the owner of Cameron's Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC. As an entrepreneur and Mental Health and Wellness Clinician, Eletta specializes in counseling services specifically targeted to individuals and groups typically reluctant to pursue traditional mental health and wellness services.Eletta has a natural affinity for working with people. Moreover, she is committed to helping and guiding individuals, couples, and organizations towards achieving their mental health and wellness goals. She has had the privilege to be guest lecturer at several local universities and served as an adjunct instructor for two local universities. Eletta has a plethora of experience and vast working knowledge in multiple areas in addition to mental health. Eletta has a unique ability to align and demonstrate connectivity to topics and issues, which to many, may appear to be worlds apart. Her message regarding mental health and wellness is relevant and suitable across multiple venues – from classrooms and boardrooms to churches and lecture halls.In January 2020 she conducted a 4-day training for the Wilkinsburg Police Department titled Full Armor: Your Right to be Protected and Receive Services addressing the mental health and wellness of Law Enforcement Officers. She served as the Keynote Speaker at Carlow University addressing Trauma Informed Care in the Classroom and the Impact of unaddressed mental health issues in school aged students. Additionally, she presented to the Blessed Be Educators organization at Carlow University and conducted a two-day professional development workshop, Inspiring the Love of Learning, for teaching assistants and tutors at California University of PA’s TRIO Upward Bound program. Yearly, since 2019 Cameron’s Counseling & Consulting as been called upon by St. Vincent’s University Office of Student Affairs Residence Life Program to conduct their summer and fall Prefect’s Training for Residential Advisors. Eletta has conducted multiple trainings for the AIU with the most recent being a series for parents involved in the TEAR Project (Trauma, Education and Response) titled Helping Kids Thrive: Parent Forum & Learning Series (2022-2023).Eletta was highlighted on Urban Radio Network during Mental Health Awareness Month and appeared in a segment of WPXI Talk Pittsburgh. The New Pittsburgh Courier quoted her concerning the crisis in urban schools as it relates to the decrease in high school continuation and retention and the disturbing reality of functional illiteracy and mental health. She is a regular contributor to Helpful Living magazine with her first article titled "Invisible" published in October 2020 and 5 Reasons to Talk About Mental Health published in February 2021, and in August 2021 an artile titled, Common Ground: Mental Health of the Community Alongside Police. Eletta's most resent article Creating Space for Yourself During Times of Transition appeared August 2023. Additionally, Cameron’s Counseling & Consulting was called upon to conduct two trainings for The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. The first training titled, Self-care for Providers: Creating Space for your Mental Health & Wellness in the Workplace (2022), followed up the next year with LOWLINE & MI (Motivational Interviewing): Tools & Techniques to De-Escalate Challenging Interactions (2023). In March 2023 she was contacted by a local church in Wilkinsburg to address mental health in the church and offered at 3-hour workshop titled: Soul Care of the Church: Addressing MH and Wellness from a Spiritual Perspective (2023). This workshop was well attended by upwards of 50 individuals, parishioners from the hosting church as well as their sister churches. To date she has conducted her Soul-Care series in four churches and several others in contact for her to share this perspective. Her next venture is holding her first Women’s Conference titled: Being in Total Charge of Herself: Begin the Transformation which is being hosted by Carlow University on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
