Founded in 2018, Pinecrest City Music Project, Inc. (PCMP) is a nationally recognized arts organization that educates students to become holistic arts leaders, both in and outside the classroom, through its innovative Full Circle Curriculum Model.The first and only student-operated instructional contractor to the School Board of Miami-Dade County, PCMP operates, funds, and instructs eight weekly school-based orchestra and band programs reaching over 500 students, led by the organization’s 45 paid student staff – all of whom are exceptional Miami high school students passionate about the arts and its profound impact on character, moral, and academic development.PCMP reaches over 8,000 Miamians annually through its large-scale public arts education initiatives, including Music @ the Gardens and the South Dade Schools ArtsFest. PCMP is regarded as one of the only student-led organizations to be awarded government grant contracts from Miami-Dade County, the State of Florida, and the National Endowment for the Arts.Through its Equitable College Assistance Program (ECAP), PCMP covered costs for over 350 college application fees on behalf of its 2022 Staff Cohort – a $28,000 investment in Miami’s future arts educators and advocates in aiming to eliminate inequities in the college admissions process.
