Hi, I'm Ali! I’m an herbalist, forager, and land-tender living on the land of the Lenape people in what is now called Sussex County, New Jersey. I started Brigid Rising out of a desire to help us remember our connection to the living earth, to the green and growing things, to the medicine we can find right in our own backyards.I have been studying herbalism, foraging my own wild food, and making my own medicine for a decade, and I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with the community.My goal is to help people learn about and connect with the plants and their ecosystems in a fun, relaxed, joyful way. I am committed to making sure my classes are safe, welcoming spaces.I offer hands-on educational workshops, classes, and plant walks at local farms, environmental organizations, and venues in northern New Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley, eastern Pennsylvania - and online!
