In August of 2006, eight women came together with the idea of organizing a chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated that would target the needs of the Greater Hartford and Manchesterareas. After much planning, on March 23, 2007, at the Tri-State area convention, Phi Delta Zeta was chartered. Since the inception of the chapter, numerous community service and educational programs have been organized in the Manchester and GreaterHartford areas. Chapter members have raised and donated thousands of dollars in scholarships and hundreds of hoursfor community service events in the Manchester-Hartfordcommunities. The chapter desires to create partnerships with businesses and people with the same objectives of service to the community. The women of the Phi Delta Zeta Chapter strive to maintain a level of excellence while promoting the sorority principles of Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.
