Hello and WELCOME! My name is Chrissie and I am an experienced therapist,Breathwork facilitator, Inner Dance facilitator and Sound Healer.I offer a variety of classes that are all aimed atconnecting with our True Nature(Essence, Loving Presence or Self in Internal Family Systems therapy language) as a way to transform our painful experiences and emotions. Being human can be beautiful and it can be painful, and everything inbetween. My classes offer a variety of ways to digest and integrate the challenges life has offered, leaving more space for the beauty.I aim to provide a space where the parts of us that society encourages us to hide are welcome; this might be vulnerability, sadness, anger, hatred, jealousy, fear or shame. Or it might be the more ‘positive’ elements in us that life taught us it was best to hide, maybe our love, strength or our exuberance. There is something in this ‘welcoming’ in itself that clients report can be transformative. When these aspects feel welcome, bit by bit, they start to have less control over us. There’s something in the being seen and heard that allows some of the charge to dissipate. The more we fight an aspect of ourselves the stronger it usually gets.My approach is integrative and transpersonal, bringing in the body, heart, mind, soul and whatever is ‘bigger than us’ (whatever your version of this is). This way of working takes us into the right hemisphere of the brain where the less conscious material is held (the trauma as well as aspects of our True Nature that we have exiled from our awareness) it therefore opens up realms of our inner work that might otherwise go untapped. Over the years I have become disheartened at what traditional talk therapy has to offer, and this has motivated me to explore less conventional healing therapies.I trained as a creative arts therapist (play therapy) 20 years ago, and worked in the NHS as a mental health worker for 6 years before moving into private practice. Much of my therapy practice now focuses on IFS therapy (Internal Family Systems), spirituality, mindfulness and the body. More recently I trained in legal ways to access altered states of consciousness and I now offer conscious connected breathwork classes, Inner Dance classes and sound healing. For the last 19 years I have been a spiritual practitioner. My spiritual journey began with Insight Meditation, before taking me to Tibetan Buddhism and from here I found my way to the teachings of A.H. Almaas and the Ridhwan School. I have been a student of the Ridhwan school for 8 years now; this greatly enhances my experiences and understanding of what IFS calls Self and gives a strong transpersonal component to the way I work.
