Karimah Cornelius-Stith is a highly accomplished licensed psychotherapist, a certified American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) sex therapist, a certified anger management specialist, a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor, and the founder of New Reflections Therapeutic Services. With over two decades of clinical experience, Karimah combines expertise with empathy to provide transformative care to individuals, couples, and families.Grounded by her Christian faith, Karimah’s work is infused with strength, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others thrive.Born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix, Karimah graduated as part of the first Magnet class of the St. Croix Educational Complex. She received a full scholarship to the University of the Virgin Islands, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.Her academic journey continued at the University of Central Florida, where she earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with honors. Following her studies, Karimah returned to St. Croix, where she served her community as a Social Work Supervisor at the Queen Louise Home for Lutheran Social Services.Karimah’s dedication to research was evident during her time as a Minority International Research Training Program intern with the University of Pittsburgh. She co-authored a publication in the Journal of National Medical Association, exploring the relationships between perceived stress, coping behaviors, and cortisol secretion in women experiencing varying levels of internalized racism.In 2007, Karimah relocated to the Washington, DC area, where she has spent the past 16 years providing therapy, administering psychological assessments, facilitating group therapy, and conducting crisis assessments in hospitals. In 2012, she established New Reflections Therapeutic Services, a group practice dedicated to fostering growth and healing in individuals, couples, and families.Over the past five years, Karimah has honed her expertise in addressing intimacy issues, offering couples and individuals the tools to experience deeper pleasure, connection, and satisfaction in their relationships.Karimah also finds fulfillment in giving back to the community.
