The Capital Area New Mainers Project is a cross-cultural organization that welcomes immigrants and works to build a thriving, integrated community in central Maine.As the only organization in central Maine that focuses specifically on meeting immigrant needs, CANMP serves as a bridge between the immigrant and non-immigrant communities. We strive to:1) Cultivate personal relationships: CANMP programs give immigrants and local community members the opportunity to meet, share experiences, and build lasting relationships.2) Meet immigrant needs: CANMP connects immigrants to helpful local people and resources to meet immediate and long-term needs, and it provides opportunities for them to become contributing members of our community.3) Educate the broader community: CANMP educates the broader community about the challenges that immigrants face and the benefits they bring to central Maine.
