JuanDaniel Chávez(b. September 15, 1993 – Guadalajara, MX) is a Chicago-based saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, composer, and co-founder of PCCCArts 501(c)(3), a nonprofit dedicated to arts education and community empowerment. Raised in Coos Bay, Oregon, he developed an early passion for music, playing clarinet and saxophone while performing with the Oregon Coast Lab Band alongside artists such as Mic Gillette (Tower of Power), Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Bria Skonberg.He earned a B.A. in Music Education from the Oregon Center for the Arts, where he contributed to jazz, classical, and pop music programs, studied under esteemed mentors, and performed alongside Morgan James with the Britt Festival Orchestra. He also participated in the world premiere of Natural History – Symphony for Nature on PBS.Following college, Daniel performed internationally as a cruise ship musician, traveling to over 30 countries and sharing the stage with artists such as Lorraine Crosby and Deborah Cox.Now based in Chicago, Daniel has recorded, written, and performed with artists including ‘The Voice’ runner-up Katie Kadan, Lester Rey, Purple Tokyo, Marca MP with Banda Estrategia, Herman Olivera, and Willy Garcia with the GFC International All-Star Big Band. He is a frequent collaborator with Alan Gresik's Swing Orchestra at the Green Mill, Rosalba Valdez y Los Valientes, Luis Alfredo, Joaquin Garcia, and the Clif Wallace Big Band.In 2024, Daniel released his debut Chicago album, "Chicago" with his organ quartet.As co-founder of PCCCArts, Daniel is dedicated to using the arts as a vehicle for education, empowerment, and community building. He continues to craft both classic and innovative musical experiences through performances, productions, and education.
