The Friends of Jupiter Beach (FJB)is a volunteer led 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. The organization was founded in 1994 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to formally preserve the privilege of bringing dogs to Jupiter Beach. They created an agreement with the Town of Jupiter to:Organize volunteers from all facets of the community to clean 2 .5 miles of beach and road.Educate beach goers and dog owners on beach etiquette and respect through volunteer beach ambassadors, local media, newsletters, civic fairs, and now, social media.Provide FREE dog bags at 29 beach crossovers at no cost to the Town of Jupiter or Palm Beach County. FJB maintains the boxes, posts, sponsor signs and keeps the boxes filled.FJB currently provides more than 400,000 dog bags annually and collects in excess of 8,000 lbs. of trash and recycling annually. The organization has involved the community in its work and most months sees scouts, church groups, businesses and school children join in its efforts to maintain the beauty and integrity of Jupiter Beach.Although FJB has been recognized with achievement awards from both the Town of Jupiter and Palm Beach County, it receives no government funding of any kind and is supported solely through fundraisers and donations from an appreciative public.Friends of Jupiter BeachPO Box 791Jupiter, FL 33468(561) 748-8140www.friendsofjupiterbeach.comFriends of Jupiter Beach, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) Florida nonprofit corporation, Reg. # CH21410.A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE 800 435-7352 WITHIN THE STATE.
