Como se Dice is a newly established art collective in Calgary.Como se dice is about diasporic Latines reconnecting our identities of latinidad and indigeneity through combinations of artworks, workshops and community events based around the Plaza. During our time at Sparrow, we will be creating community spaces that are built on the idea of “Plazas”, a space that you find in many Latin American cities and towns which act as central gathering spaces where people dance, eat, celebrate, pray, etc.The idea of using the city planning practice of “plazas” in Latin America is for us to cultivate the sense of being the heart of Calgary, a city where we can invite Latines and allied communities to partake in the celebrations and discussions
