Oxford Wood Recycling (OWR) is a social enterprise and registered charity (1178214) mostly funded from our trading activities. 93% in 2023 and 97% in 2024! Income from trading has paid the bills for twenty years, and has supported our charitable aims and outcomes, enabling us to be viewed locally, not just as a local business, but as a valued community organisation.The aim of Oxford Wood Recycling is twofold. Firstly, to relieve unemployment by providing jobs, work placements, training and volunteering opportunities for people whose circumstances, such as disability, mean that they are very often excluded from work. Equally, to protect the natural environment by recycling and re-using waste wood and by promoting the use of sustainably-produced timber – meaning well -managed local woodlands. Oxford Wood Recycling loves to actively engaged with it's local community by hosting events such as Community Shed and Repair Café, and by offering free and paid opportunities to learn about wood.
