Embracing one crown at a time. CrownTheMelanin was founded in 2020 and is on a mission to empower and educate people to have a better relationship with their natural hair through hair education. CrownTheMelanin is lead by Dionne, who knows all to well what its like to be addicted to unhealthy hair habits after being relaxed for 15 years. After the big chop in 2019, Dionne decided to build an online community and educate people on how to look after their natural hair through engaging video tutorials, workshops and online courses. In 2022, Dionne gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and decided to build on the work and started to engage with new and expectant mothers dealing with postpartum hair loss and help educate them looking after their little ones hair. Dionne is now studying to be a future Trichologist in order to accommodate and educate people with complex hair conditions to support them on their natural hair journey.
