5 X World Champion Irish Dancer, David Geaney, is an incredibly fast growing name in the entertainment industry. Boasted by The Times as “jaw droppingly virtuosic” and dubbed “the present day Fred Astaire”, David is fast becoming one of the leading stars of the Irish Dance world today. Amassing over 25 million online views, David is an online sensation. In 2014, he founded his own company “Velocity” alongside the World Record Holder for the fastest feet in the world, James Devine. The group instantly became a hit with viral online videos. It was turned into a full scale production for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. Described by the “The Scotsman” - Geaney is a phenomenal dancer, lightning fast, bursting with energy and amiable with the crowd. Velocity was dubbed “one of the best dance hours of the Fringe” and caught the attention of the off-Broadway theater, The New Victory! In 2018, Velocity made its US debut, selling out its entire 3 week run at The New Victory Theater with The New York Times describing it as ‘ecstatic”! Alongside developing his own productions, David is also famed for his appearance on the World’s Biggest Talent Show, Britain’s Got Talent in 2017. Having been approached by the producers in early 2017, David decided to take part and reached the live finals with his innovative approach to the one man act using holographic projections. He was described by Simon Cowell as a clever “ideas man” and went on to perform his act in several countries following his television appearance. David is also a full time member of Grammy Award Winning, female supergroup, Cherish The Ladies and has been a part of the group for 4 years now. Led by powerhouse, Joanie Madden, David performs worldwide with the supergroup. More recently in 2020, David took his first role as a TV Presenter on the Irish language station, TG4. Mentoring contestants and preparing them backstage, David took his first role into a presenters role in his native tongue and is now in talks for a second series. David has also been invited on to Ireland’s biggest chat show, The Late Late Show, as a solo performer to talk about his career to date and to perform in front of Ireland’s largest weekly television audience. He has also been invited to private performances with the British Royal Family on their visits to Ireland. David holds a role on a arts initiative by Kerry County Council, which seeks advice from figures such as David to make dancing more popular in the county. The Dingle Dancer is also regular performer in the world famous Irish pub, The Dingle Pub on Main Street, Dingle, which is owned by his family!
