I am a recently Ordained Dharma Teacher in the Plum Village Buddhist Tradition. I have been practicing Mindfulness and leading workshops/days of Mindfulness for over fifteen years. I have worked in the Mental Health Services facilitating Mindfulness sessions across all sectors from staff to service users. I design and deliver Mindfulness sessions across all Community groups and the general public.I was going through a very hard time dealing with issues from the past. I left my job in business many years ago and went back to college to pursue my deepest love - poetry and literature. I had decided I wasn't going to write it but live it. I started practicing Mindfulness every day and was introduced to the Buddhist Monastery - Plum Village in France and zen master Thich Nhat Hanh . I attended and worked at many retreats there over the years. I learned how to deal with the stresses, sorrows and pain in my life and to recognize that all pain is universal. I volunteered at my local hospice and sat with the dying. I also learned to sit with myself. I learned to appreciate my life and those that made life possible. I learned to appreciate the goodness and richness in life. I completed a Masters in Bereavement Support with the Irish Hospice Foundation. All of this is poetry to me. I love what I do. I love facilitating Mindfulness sessions because we are all learning and inspiring each other. The real beauty of this practice is that we bring it home to our lives - in the way we speak, in the way we walk and in the way we just periodically stop and breathe and recognize the lovely miracle of being alive!
