Tina Quinn was born in Ohio. The proud parent of 4 adult sons and 2 grandsons she moved to Atlanta, GA eleven years ago at age 45 to assist in caring for her mother who was recovering from major surgery. Tina took a job working as a project coordinator for The Coca Cola Company (through a temp agency) working in that position until being offered a position as a Staffing Manager for At Home By Sunrise Senior Living where she worked until the position ended when the company merged with Alliance Healthcare, Tina went to work for First Data Corporation where she continues to work as a Business Systems Implementation Analyst. Happy that mom was better and she was working, there was still something missing in her life. It was during this time that Tina begin searching for her purpose in life. She joined Light of The World Christian Tabernacle church where she was asked to be part of the outreach ministry. One Saturday afternoon while out with the outreach team I not only stumbled upon 10 young girls (ages 5-11) that wanted to go to church, but my passion and purpose. As a survivor of childhood incest and molestation, rejection and the ills that game with that as an adult, I saw me in their eyes. Although my working resume is filled with successes in project management and finance, my greatest enjoyment (passion) is in providing guidance, support and new experience to girls that others have given up on or abused.This is where Dream Girlz Mentoring, a nonprofit for at risk girls ages 6-16 was conceived and birthed. In February, 2014,Tina, realizing there was a need far greater than she as one person could tackle, begin the process of structuring Dream Girlz as a non profit organization. Of the 10 girls that started with Tina in January, 2004, 1 graduated college May, 2014 (Suma Cum) Laude, 1 will graduate December (also Suma Cum Laude if she continues on the path she's on) 1 graduated from Benjamin Banneker High School,, 2014 Suma Cum Laude) and is currently a Freshman at Albany State University. Tina is a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director andactive member in good standing with Light of the World Christian Association, headquartered in Stockbridge, Gerogia.
