About DJ Modernaire:Denard Jones is a Birmingham native, attended John Carroll High School and Tuskegee University. Mr Jones, has always had a passion for music since his childhood, playing tapes on a Fisher Price radio along with his father’s HiFi Stereo system. Denard would often times dig through his father’s vinyl and cassette collections, finding new favorites in old classics from the 70’s and beyond.He got his 1st Real Boombox, in 4th grade. Like many kids of the 80’s watching BET’s Rap City with Chris The Mayor,Yo! MTv Raps, BET’s Video Soul were his favorite pastimes outside of movies, video games and trips to the arcade.Mr Jones learned to read Music in 6th grade and would go on to play drums for John Carroll High School Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band & Concert Bands. Denard played Snare Drum in Tuskegee University’s Marching Crimson Piper Band Drumline. Playing drums, singing in the Choir, staying active in Church, being immersed in technology, a love of cars, traveling and making Mixtapes/CD’s are things friends and family have ALWAYS known him for.Denard took his love for music to the professional level, after putting it off for countless years…becoming DJ Modernaire in 2020.You can usually findDJ Modernaire providing music for Wedding ceremonies, Receptions, Corporate Events, Birthdays, Music Festivals (including this one at Orion) bringing the soundtrack to Fashion shows, Conferences, Galas, Award Ceremonies etc.Denard loves ALL types of music, but truly loves Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, R&B, Classic Soul, Gospel and of course Country Rap Tunez.He currently serves with the organization, KRU - “Knowledge, Rhythm, and Understanding”, teaching children the 4 Elements of Hip-Hop.Modernaire’s element being The DeeJay.Denard is an active member ofThe J Dilla Foundation | Birmingham Chapter. Preserving the musical legacy of James D.
