The proceeds from the Dinner in the Meadow on September 15, 2024, go towards the Leonard-Mobley Small Farm Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and cultivating small farms in North Carolina. Established in 2014, the Fund has been instrumental in aiding the development and long-term sustainability of small farms through an annual grants program. The Fund is named in honor of two extraordinary North Carolina farmers, Marjorie Leonard and Jerry Stephen Mobley. Marjorie, a lifelong educator and advocate for equal rights, was passionate about fresh, local foods and the importance of local farms. Jerry, an agribusinessman and owner of Meadow Lane Farm, was dedicated to encouraging and guiding small farmers. Their shared vision and commitment to local agriculture continue to inspire the work of the Fund. One of the Dinner in the Meadow's key initiatives is the selection of the annual Leonard-Mobley Small Farm Grant Winner. This year, we are excited to invite you to our 9th annual event, to be held on September 15, 2024.
