Elaine was born December 7, 1972 in Los Angeles, California. She began singing at the age of 5, entertaining neighborhood children with concerts in her parent’s living room. She grew up listening to powerhouse, passion filled vocalists like Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin; as well as the smooth grooves of contemporary Jazz vocalists like George Benson. Elaine was also inspired by the sounds of the traditional church choirs and desired to explore her musical gifts.As time progressed, Elaine joined her Jr. High School gospel choir. Having a full course load, (taking Advanced Placement courses), she attended rehearsals after school to pursue this passion. It was then that she learned some fundamental principles of singing and performing to build a musical foundation. Elaine continued her academic performances entering high school – which served as the training ground that would add more technical finesse to her vocal abilities. During this time she sang with Inglewood High School’s Gospel Choir, performing for civic, memorial, baccalaureate and graduation ceremonies; earning awards and garnering the recognition of the City of Inglewood.Following high school graduation, Elaine entered the corporate world and was afforded opportunities to grace many stages performing at several corporate events. In the church world, she served as a District Choir Director for the Full Gospel Metropolitan Region (presiding over a 60 voice choir) as well as the Music Ministry Leader for her local church choir at the time.Currently, Elaine serves at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch, California where she participated on the Praise & Worship team for several years at both the Porter Ranch, Pasadena and West Los Angeles (Wadsworth) campuses. In addition, she’s performed in the following productions:• 2022 produced Love Does live show (presented by Elaine Ray Sings)• 2021 produced Spread Love Concert Fundraiser (presented by Elaine Ray Sings)• 2019 launched Elaine Ray Sings, produced debut show• 2019 Passion Play Production @ Shepherd Church (ensemble singer/actor)• 2014 Passion Play Production @ Shepherd Church (ensemble singer/actor)• 2007 Christmas at the Wadsworth musical (Lead Vocalist)• 2006 Christmas production, Two from Galilee (ensemble singer)She desires to use her musical gift combined with storytelling to inspire and be a demonstration of love.
