She began her entrepreneurial journey withKissing Whiskey Vintageon Etsy in 2019, where her passion for curating unique, vintage fashion and glassware evolved into a successful online shop. From there, she expanded into physical retail, hosting her first holiday pop-up atMaven Createfrom December 2020 through February 2021.Since then, Kristen has been a prominent figure in the local creative scene, participating in over 100 pop-up markets and local shows, including Urban Flea Market and Craft Lake City. Her work extends beyond vintage curation, having coordinated community events like the Sugar Space Community Market in 2021 and the first Sundance Institute "For The Locals" Film Screening on SLC's Westside, featuring CODA.In October 2021, Kristen launched Vintage Drift SLC in a subleased space on 300 W, which relocated to 900 South in April 2023. The shop serves as a creative hub for Salt Lake City's queer community, offering a size-inclusive and gender-neutral collection of vintage clothing, as well as artisanal goods. Kristen's commitment to sustainability and self-expression is at the heart of her work, fostering an inclusive space for people of all identities.An accomplished event planner, Kristen is behind some of SLC’s most beloved queer community gatherings, including the Out & Proud Pop Up Market for local LGBQT Makers, Femininomenon, a celebration of femme identity, and Vampyros, a sapphic, femme-focused dance party inspired by the 1970 cult classic Vampyros Lesbos. Her dedication to creating spaces that uplift and empower marginalized voices is evident in every project she undertakes.Kristen’s efforts have not gone unnoticed; she remains an active committee member for the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, where she continues to advocate for inclusivity and support LGBTQ-owned businesses. Her work is driven by a desire to foster community, sustainability, and individuality in Salt Lake City and beyond.When she’s not organizing markets, block parties, or variety show events, Kristen can be found mountain biking, climbing, or enjoying time with friends in the outdoors.
