Worthy Starling is a commitment to being a leader of congruence they need to see in movement. They are a life long activist and community organizer whose heart belongs to and with working poor folks globally and is stepping into the work that has been calling her for years.Worthy has witnessed and been victim to the violence that lives in all of us, even those of us working toward liberation. They have been heartbroken by the incongruence between folks espoused values and their actions; often by the very communities and organizations which also saved them. Worthy has spent the last decade searching for answers to the question; “how do we build sustainable movements which don’t perpetuate the same harms of patriarchal racialized capitalism?”What they found was politicized somatics.Worthy has been practicing politicized somatics for six years, most recently with Staci Haines, a leader in the development of this field. They offer community the transformative power of somatics so we can heal and connect instead of harm and rupture. We are all we have and we need one another if we are going to survive this time of compounding crisis.
