About This Event
DONATIONS: Programs are offered on a free-will donation basis, but participants are kindly requested to consider a $20/adult ($10/child) minimum donation to support our mission, facilities & care for the wilderness. Those who are able to contribute help ensure that access to the healing power of nature is available to all.
DESCRIPTION: The creation of ephemeral art can be a contemplative act of humility, reverence, and meditation. Consider why some manipulation of the natural world is viewed as disrespectful and destructive while others are enjoyed and accepted. Explore and discover modes of art in nature that offer ephemeral joy and deepen the artist and the viewers interaction with the natural world. Create and memorialize (photographically) ephemeral art near the ponds and meadow of the Niles Cabin.

Friends Wilderness Center
305 Friends Way, 25425, Harpers Ferry, WV, United States
Friends Wilderness Center is a place of peace and tranquility within a unique 1600-acre wilderness preserve and spiritual sanctuary on the western side of the Blue Ridge, where the sounds you hear are the music of nature – a place to Relax, Renew, and Recharge. We welcome all who respect nature and our mission to care for the rustic, natural setting entrusted to us, and to enable others to find spiritual nurturing there. We offer a sanctuary where individuals, families and congregations may listen to the land and its creatures and deepen their inner lives. We nurture renewal of the soul within a wilderness setting, enabling visitors to grow spiritually by harmonizing with nature. We honor the privilege of protecting and preserving the land entrusted to us as stewards, and we extend the opportunity to share that stewardship with others. We believe the wilderness should be shared with a diversity of people so that the wilderness can bring peace and fulfillment to all who seek it.
