Starting in 2016 at First Parish Medfield, Expresso Yourself Coffeehouse has held 44 events, attended by over 1400 people from Medfield and surrounding towns, including Boston. Featured were 16 singing groups, 24 spoken word artists, 3 dance events, and 1 theatrical show. Many adults and teens participate in the open mic with songs, poems, stories, recitals, and even dances. Audience members say that Expresso is a haven for exploration. “Love the diversity of voices – truth is spoken!” That it is an “intellectually stimulating, funny, community.” They raise mostly to keep the historic 1789 meetinghouse standing and becoming more sustainable.
