Local non-profit organization whose mission statement is to assist the Homeless to transition out of homelessness by covering their basic needs and giving them a reason to look forward to achieving the ultimate goal: Permanent housing. Favela likes to raise awareness and connect with businesses and individuals who would like to get involved and help the homeless.We thank you in advance for your contribution to this very important cause.Your donation will:* Clean Our City: Your donation can assist in hiring a cleaning crew of up to 10 Homeless per month. Having a job will help them build their resume, as well as reintegrate into society and save for rent to get out of the streets. Goal: $48,000* Help house, teach, feed and employ the Homeless: Favela Miami has several initiatives in place to help the Homeless rejoin the workforce. Your donation will help continue and expand these projects. For specifics, please go to Volunteer tab. Goal: TBD"Blessing Bags" will help the Homeless have better hygiene and therefore better health. In the period of several days, hundreds of Blessing Bags were distributed to the Homeless from 1st St. to 87th. Each bag contained 2 pairs of socks, washcloth, shampoo, conditioning, tooth brush, tooth paste, razor, soap, deodorant, comb, chapstick, hand sanitize and a list of Local Resources, including medical, mental help, drug & alcohol recovery, workplace agency, etc. All in a gallon size ziploc so they don't get wet.
