The school is based at Bath Artists Studios and is run by Sue Larner and Olga Fladmark. Weekly classes working directly from the model are held on Tuesday and Wedesday in both afternoon and evening and on Thursday Evenings.Sue Larner is a graduate of the Royal College of Art and has been running her popuar sculpture classes on Wednesdays for 25 years where she encourages students to find their own style and supports them organising an annual exhibition at the Walcot Chapel. Sue also runs drop in life drawing on Tuesday mornings and weekend life drawing workshops. Sue was a founding member and drving force behind the setting up of Bath Artists Studios, where she still has a studio where she works on her own figurative sculpture. She is currently organising a group work involving many small figures produced by sculptors and members of the public.Olga Fladmark is a figurative sculptor living and working in Bath. From an artistic family, of Norwegian and English extraction, she grew up in Scotland and studied sculpture for five years at Edinburgh College of Art. She studied under figurative sculptor Vincent Butler, who had been taught in Italy by Marino Marini and Giacomo Manzu. She was fortunate to learn traditional techniques, working from the model, casting life-sized work in plaster and small pieces in bronze, then specialising in stone carving. Olga also paints, has a degree in Art History from Edinburgh University and has taught art workshops in schools. She runs weekly figurative sculpture classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bath Artists Studios where students can learn to ‘Sculpt like and Old Master’ teaching traaditional techniques for setting out a sculpture to ensure proportions are correct.
