Brisbane-born flautist, Lilly Yang is currently completing a Masters of Music/Woodwind - Flute at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Germany. She completed her professional performance training at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in 2021 and a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) in 2018 under the guidance of Virginia Taylor. In 2023, Lilly was selected to participate as a performer in the masterclasses of Jacques Zoon (Adriatic Woodwind Festival, Duino, Italy) and Robert Winn (Oxford Flute Summer School, UK). In 2022, she also travelled to Nice, France to join classes taught by Sophie Cherrier and Julien Beaudiment during the Nice International Summer Academy. Lilly has worked professionally with the Kölner Kammer Orchester, Orchestra Victoria (OV), Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO), Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra (MCO) as a casual flautist. Lilly also maintains a number of active chamber projects as part of the Estrel Flute & Harp Duo and the Elara Flute Duo, and is passionate about bringing classical music to her community through self-directed chamber recitals.
