The Lake Tansi Exchange Club is a community service organization which is a member of the Narional Exchange Club, a network of clubs striving together to fulfill the mission of inspiring communities to become better places to live. The National Exchange organization and our Local Club supports three areas of service; Americanism, Community Serviice, and Youth Programs with specific dedication to the prevention of child abuse. The events and activities we organize throughout the year help support these initiatives. Since our inception in 1937, the Lake Tansi Exchange Club has raised and donated over One Million Dollars to non-profits throughout Cumberland County. We will be celbrating this milestone with a "Thanks a Million" gala planned for June 2025.Youth Programs & the Prevention of Child Abuse:The Lake Tansi Exchange Club sponsors the Exchange Club Stephens Center in Crossville , a non-profit for the prevention of Child Abuse, using an Exchange Parent Aide home visitation model, with child abuse prevention experts working diretly with at-risk Families. In additiona donations have been given to various child and youth-based programs including Kids On the Rise, Teens Againt Drugs Center, Imagination Library , Art Circle LIbrary Summer Reading Programs, Roane Stat STEM camps for young girls, support of Blue Ribbon Day prevention of child abuse community awareness programs, Brown Elementary programs including Buddy Benches, Classroom donations and hunger prevention through Second Harvest. The club also provides two annual youth scholarships to deserving high school seniors pursuing a college education.Americanism & Honoring of our Veterans:Beginning in 2022, The Lake Tansi Exchange Club has hosted the Field of Honor event, a week-long display of 600 American Flags, each dedicated to a veteran or local hero, with the largest portion of proceeds donated to the Cumberland County Veterans Assistance Commission. These monies provide support to Veteran programs throughout the county. Direct donations have alos been given to the Cumberland County Marine Corp League and Young Marines and Veterans Honor Guard. The Club also created and maintains the Veterans Memorial Park in Lake Tansi feauring a pathway of individual bricks dedicated to local veterans. In addition the Club holds an annual Veterans Ice Cream Social and supports the Crossville Veterans Parade and other local Veteran events.Community Service:The Club holds various fundraising events to bring our community together including an annual Spaghetti Dinner, Fourth of July Chicken BBQ, and Exchane Club Golf Tournament. Our Road Gang members volunteer with monthly community clean up as well. Many donations have been made to our Lake Tansi Community including the building of a pavilion for outdoor events, support of our Lake Tansi Police Force, coordination and purchase of Defibululators in Lake Tansi Community Buildings, and sponsorship of the Lake Tansi Welcome Committee. The Salvation Army, the Avalon Center, and the House of Hope have all received donations from our local Exchange Club.The Club holds meetings the First and Third Friday of each moth at 8:00 a.m. at the Hiawatha Community Center. We invite anyone to attand and learn more about the Lake Tansi Exchange Club and its involvement in the community.
