The Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew (FSSA) was established in 1825 "to afford relief to indigent Natives of Scotland, their Widows, and all connected with Scotsmen by descent". Today the FSSA supports local Scottish culture by hosting the Fredericton Feast of Saint Andrew in November, Robbie Burns Night in January, and Tartan Day in April. We also operate a genealogy tent at the NB Highland games each July. Through the FSSA Scholarship Fund we support deserving students to pursue their education at the University of New Brunswick. The FSSA Scottish Cultural Fund also supports local Scottish organizations and events.
