Breast Cancer Support Northland Trust aims to provide practical and emotional care to every person in Northland receiving a breast cancer / mate ūtaetae diagnosis, their whānau and friends.We provide specially trained volunteers who have themselves recovered from Breast Cancer. It’s an opportunity to speak with others who have been in a similar position. Offering practical and emotional support, encouragement, and a shoulder to cry on. We supply information on relevant services you may need.Breast Cancer Support Northland has supported thousands of Northland women for over 40 years. We provide help from south-east of Mangawhai across to the Kaipara Harbour and all the way up to Cape Rēinga. Working on the basis of utilising mate ūtaetae survivors to support those newly diagnosed. Providing emotional support and a range of practical support and information. We help approximately 45 newly diagnosed people each year, and provide ongoing support for many years after. There is confidential, one-on-one, or group support available to all cultures & gender identities in our region.Our Aim is that every person in Northland diagnosed with Breast Cancer receives the manaaki they need. Ensuring those with a breast cancer diagnosis are not socially isolated, but are connected and engaged.We hold fortnightly coffee mornings and have a Facebook page with all our up-to-date happenings and information specifically for those who have or have had a breast cancer diagnosis to connect and support each other. All of our Breast Cancer Support Northland trustees are volunteers who enhance the wellbeing, safety and quality of life for those with a breast cancer diagnosis and their whānau.We do not receive funding from Government, NZ Breast Cancer Foundation or the Cancer Society.
