OUR STORYHaving experienced the indescribable magic of countless fireside jams across the summer festivals, a group of joyful jammers asked the question ‘Why do we only get to experience this at the odd summer festival here & there? Why can’t it be a more regular part of our daily lives?’. On realising there really was no reason not to, they decided to do something about it and got to work. Thus, ‘Full Joy Jams’ was born. Such was the success of and demand for these jams that the FJ team decided to introduce another offering to the roster: choir workshops. As our community expands, so do our offerings and the FJ team are thrilled to see what the future has in store...---------------------------------------------WHO WE AREFULL JOY is an organisation that holds open, non-profit jam gatherings & inclusive choir workshops for musical expression to be shared in a supportive communal setting. We are creating a vibrant community dedicated to nurturing authentic, heartfelt & courageous contribution, with equality & accessibility at the centre.---------------------------------------------OUR MISSIONWe are on a mission to help people fulfil their needs for authenticity, connection & expression:AuthenticityWe believe in creating a secure haven for realness. All emotions have value; we recognise the balance of joy & sorrow, and advocate for vulnerable & emotional & artistic expressionUnityIn a world often characterised by division, we choose unity. Full Joy events will be fuelled by contributions and sustained by volunteers.---------------------------------------------OUR APPROACHWe believe that the magic of collective music-making has profound power. The power to create community. To tap into our highest expression of emotion. To unlock our voices & creative potential. To heal. That's why we are dedicated to creating supportive sober spaces where participants feel safe enough to fully express themselves free from the fear of judgement or condemnation, where every contribution & voice is valued equally and where listening to & supporting one another is favoured over individual one-upmanship.To achieve this, we hold predominantly acoustic jam circles & choir workshops where there is no delineation between performer & audience, musician & non-musician, participant & non-participant. Where there is no hierarchy, no stage and where the circle is one unified instrument. We recognise that stepping into the light and sharing your gifts with the world can sometimes feel intensely vulnerable & intimidating. But we also recognise the transformative & healing potential overcoming those fears can have so actively encourage & celebrate courageous contribution.
