We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our Mission:Protecting watershed health and biodiversity in Klickitat and Skamania counties and the Mt. Adams region; raising public awareness of threats and opportunities; speaking up for streams, forests, and wildlife; and supporting the Yakama Nation in their protection of cultural and natural resources. How We Work:We build local coalitions, elevate community voices, participate in public processes, and persist—even when decision-makers don’t listen. When we’ve been able to tap into the community’s energy and concern, that’s when we’ve seen our greatest successes. Our History:We were founded in 1976 to oppose the construction of seven dams and generation stations on the White Salmon River, above BZ Corner. We have been a small but mighty, largely volunteer organization since that time.
