Biophilic design—our innate connection to nature—is the foundation of Studio 309. My journey began with a thesis on biophilic design, evolving through years of work with forward-thinking architects. A defining moment came with the design of Ronald McDonald House BC Yukon, where I witnessed firsthand how thoughtful spaces could offer comfort to families in crisis. This understanding deepened when my own son was diagnosed with leukemia. Living at BC Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, I experienced biophilic design not just as a concept but as a necessity—creating safety, healing, and connection in uncertain times. This profound experience shaped Studio 309, driving a commitment to designing spaces that truly nurture well-being.
