First City Art Centeris a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working art center that engages the community through a broad range of workshops, classes, gallery shows, community events, outreach and fieldtrip programs. FCAC's role in community is unique - the center is an artistic "hatchery" for many forms of art creation including glass, pottery, music and visual arts.FCAC cultivates a creative culture that encourages people of all backgrounds, ages and skill levels to explore, participate and experiment with art. FCAC serves 10,000 adults and children each year.The Center provides opportunities for people to create through glassblowing, glass bead making, clay sculpting, pottery on the wheel, hand-built pottery, drawing, painting, and with a continued emphasis on expanding offerings.FCAC hosts four popular fundraising events (Hot Glass Cold Brew) each year. The annual Pumpkin Patch event is held in October and features work by local artists- this event is very popular and each yare attendance grows. The Center’s new home is located in the old water works building in the Long Hollow neighborhood at 1060 N. Guillemard St.
